Objective Measurement is an important part of my instruction. Measuring not only provides valuable feedback on player
development, but also lets players and families see where they stand
compared to their peers. Once a baseline is established, players will
naturally compete, first against their peers, but eventually against
themselves. In the process they learn critical skills that will help
them not only in their sports career but long after as well.
As a professional trainer, I believe training should be all about
player development. In short – helping athletes come as close to their
full potential as possible. Do you know what your MAX is? Unless you
test and train you will never really know.
Once you’ve been assessed you’ll be able to view the video clip of your
swing or throw and your other measurements in your online locker. You
will also be able to view the Leader boards to see how you stack up
against your peers in the county, state and country. If you qualify, you
will be placed on the Leader board.
CSSMI Benefits:
1) Newsletter – Tips from our professionals and updates of leaders from around the country
2) Personal Profile page with your skill videos searchable by college coaches
3) Benchmark that tells you where you stand with your age bracket throughout the country, the
state and even your county and gives you the starting point to begin monitoring your growth.
4) You qualify for a chance to be featured on the National – State - County Leaderboards
OBJECTIVE MEASUREMENT DESCRIPTIONS
Tee Exit Speed – The assessment will consist of 10 swings off of a tee with
the player’s own bat. Each swing will be videotaped and the exit speed
will be captured with the Ball Coach or Stalker Pro-II radar gun. The highest exit
speed recorded will be saved and sent to the player's profile page for
viewing and archiving.
Positional Arm Speed – The assessment will consist of 10 throws from your
designated position (catcher will start from a squat, for example). Each
throw will be videotaped and the velocity will be captured with the Ball Coach or Stalker Pro-II radar gun. The highest velocity throw recorded will be
saved and sent to the player's profile page for viewing and archiving.
Fastball Pitching Speed – The assessment will consist of 10 pitches.
Each pitch will be videotaped and the velocity will be captured with
the Ball Coach or Stalker Pro-II radar gun. The highest velocity pitch recorded will
be saved and sent to the player's profile page for viewing and
archiving.
Additional objective measurements assessing athletic components will be coming soon!
